Research

Research with students is an element of education where Richmond really shines. Research is an important piece of a UR Physics education. Starting as early as their first year, students can engage in high-level research projects with faculty members. During research, undergraduates are the primary users of our research equipment. They often travel and present their work at symposia and conferences. Regularly, students coauthor papers with faculty. Research takes place during the school year and in the summer. Summer research takes place on campus and in other locations, including U.S. national laboratories.
