Study Abroad
The University of Richmond prides itself on helping students find study abroad programs that allow them to experience another culture while taking classes that meet the requirements of their academic major. Many physics majors opt to study abroad during their time at the University of Richmond. The Physics Department encourages students to consider studying abroad because it provides students with an opportunity to engage in and learn about physics in a different socio-cultural context. Additionally, studying abroad places a global perspective on research, applications, and collaborations in physics.
The crucial step for any physics student interested in studying abroad is to begin discussing and planning early with the physics department chair and the student’s academic advisor. Physics course offerings vary each year, therefore communication with the department chair is imperative to assure your fulfillment of all necessary requirements for graduation. Courses students wish to transfer for credit towards the physics major must be approved by the department before travel.
