Profile
My research connects several important topics in the emerging era of big data astrophysics. We carry out population studies of active galaxies and explore questions such as how they have changed over the history of the Universe. For this we utilize observational data from ground and satellite-based surveys in visible light, radio waves, gamma rays, and other kinds of light.  We also have a laboratory program to make precision measurements of subtle distortion effects on telescope images, which are an increasing challenge for coming astronomical surveys.  Additionally, we are involved in exploring survey issues such as photometric redshifts, and in ongoing projects characterizing the diffuse radio and microwave light from the cosmos.
